Visakhapatnam: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman & MD, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) on Friday disclosed investment on a 10GW solar power plant in Andhra Pradesh.
Predicting that the 974-km coastline will provide an ocean of opportunities to AP due to the emphasis being laid on the blue economy, he said Reliance is making huge investments in KG basis on gas pipeline and exploration. Stating that Reliance was the first corporate to make heavy investments in AP, he said it is blessed with abundant resources and talented human resources as Andhraites position themselves in prime jobs in all companies all over the world.
He said KG-6 block itself was meeting 30 per cent of the gas requirement of the country and exuded confidence that AP will continue to play a key role in India’s growth story.
The State Government is successful in building a dynamic State, he said adding AP will emerge as a leading destination in India’s growth story. Ambani said: “we are creating the largest and the best digital network footprint in the State by investing over Rs40,000 crore.”
He said their 4G network will cover 98 per cent of APs population including those who live in the remotest corner of the State. True 5G will be completed before the end of 2023 throughout India including AP.
Ambani said “the growth of the blue economy will open up new opportunities for AP. The State has a lot of opportunities by harnessing renewable ocean energy, sea bed minerals, marine biotechnology, and so on.”
Ambani said enormous strength of Andhra diaspora including doctors, scientists and several professionals. Reliance’s best managers are from Andhra. Under Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's leadership, AP has grown phenomenally be it in ease of doing business or in giving clearances without any hassles.
He further said Reliance has invested over Rs1.50 lakh crore in its KG D-6 assets, developing and supporting gas pipelines. Today the natural gas produced by Reliance in KG D-6 basin was fuelling the country's clean energy transition and will contribute to nearly 30 per cent of its gas production.
